FREE DIGITAL MARKETING ASSESSMENT
Your digital marketing audit is divided into 3-4 major digital marketing segments, which are:
- SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
- Social Media Marketing
- Online Paid Advertising
- Content Marketing
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the work involved in making your website be placed as close as possible to the top results in search engines such as Google. Things such as inbound/outbound links, content quality (the quality of content in your website including videos and articles), and spam score contribute to your rank in a search engine result. SEO comes down to page rank, which is a term used to describe your websites rank in search engine results.
Social Media Marketing
Social Media Marketing is marketing done through social media, pretty simple concept to understand. What is not so easy to understand is the tools, niche-specific marketing strategies, and social media content creation to use and create when marketing on social media outlets. Facebook and Twitter have way different philosophies, so the way a user of these channels react to content in them, is also very different. Twitter is a loud social media platform. That is, you can post a lot in it, like a lot, compared to other social media platforms. This means that if your business gains great benefits from being in very constant touch with your clients, then Twitter is the perfect social media platform to use because you can post constantly about your business, without annoying your business’s Twitter followers, as you would by posting frequently in different social media platforms. On the other hand, Facebook is a hybrid social media platforms when it comes to marketing. You should not post too much, but neither too little. Hybrid, in a social media marketing sense, also means that it can do a little of everything in regards to other social media outlets like Istagram, Youtube, Snapchat, and so on. However, the greatest marketing asset of Facebook is it’s Facebook Ad-targeting control capabilities. Facebook customer targeting is a hyper-targeting engine, meaning that you can target your customers with very. very granular approaches. From specific jobs, areas, tites, ages, page-likes, and other demographics and interests, Facebook uses it’s information available about it’s users (which is usually in-depth) in order to better target your desired clientele.
Online Paid Advertising
Paying for online advertising can get expensive, specially if you don’t know what tools to use, and how to use them as effectively as possible. Even if online paid advertising gets expensive, it is still one of the cheapest ways of advertising that has higher success in marketing. As in any form of paid advertising, you want to make sure that you are not just throwing money at such advertising. If you do so, A) you probably will not reach your target market, and B) you will be throwing money down the gutter for doing so. Effective paid advertising online can be a bit complex, like Dynamic Search Ads, a feature that customizes your ads based on what’s on your website and what people are searching without having to fiddle with your list of keywords all the time, to actual Adwords (ranging from video-ads to app-ads) and Pay-Per-Click. All of these online paid advertising strategies and others must be used in synchronization with other SEO techniques in order for the online paid advertising to, (no pun intended) pay off.
This last type of online advertising on the list is not as effective in all niches as the four above, let me explain. . . Content marketing is marketing made up of free content that your business puts out in digital form (video, information, article, PDF, tools), that your target market can use, and really is of value to them. Your content marketing though not always, should be in some sense, conceptually related to your business’s niche. Most businesses can benefit from content marketing in a way, but for example, a carpentry business might not benefit as much on content marketing explaining how to maintain tables as a vehicle manufacturer would providing tips on how to maintain and optimize their vehicles.
